Fastnet Films is the production company of Macdara Kelleher, Morgan Bushe and director Lance Daly. A continuous presence at major festivals including Cannes, Toronto, Berlin, Sundance, and Telluride, the company has also been nominated for the European Film Awards and the Independent Spirit Awards.
Projects in pre and post‐production include Black 47 starring Hugo Weaving, Jim Broadbent and Stephen Rea, The Professor and the Madman, starring Mel Gibson and Sean Penn, and The Belly of the Whale, starring Pat Shortt and Lewis MacDougall. In February 2018, principal photography began on George R.R. Martin’s new SciFi TV Show Nightflyers, which is the largest production to shoot in Ireland.
Other recent productions include Mammal, starring Rachel Griffiths which premiered in competition at Sundance 2016; The Land of the Enlightened, from director Pieter Jan de Pue, also at Sundance 2016, the film was nominated for the European Film Awards; Strangerland, starring Nicole Kidman, premiered at Sundance 2015; What If starring Daniel Radcliffe, Zoe Kazan and Adam Driver premiered as a Toronto Gala Presentation and was released worldwide in 2014. Previous credits include Life’s a Breeze, directed by Lance Daly, starring Fionnula Flanagan, premiered at Toronto 2013; The Runway starring Academy Award nominated actor Demián Bichir; The Surprise, from Academy Award Winning Director Mike Van Diem; Circus Fantasticus, shortlisted for the European Film Awards and longlisted for best foreign language film at the Academy Awards; Anton Corbijn Inside Out, which premiered at the Berlinale 2012; The Other Side of Sleep which received its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, Director’s Fortnight 2011; and Kisses premiering at Telluride, sold by Focus Features and nominated for Best Foreign Film at the Independent Spirit Awards.
